Winner of LPPM UMJ Grant Fund Holds Community Service in Bojong Kulur Village

 Dr. Hj. Zulfitria Zaidir, M.Pd., Dr. Munaya Fauziah, M.Kes., and Ummi Sabil were one of the teams selected as winners of grant funds for the community service program (Pengmas) from the Institute for Research and Community Service, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (LPPM UMJ) . This event was held at the Al Fath Vila Nusa Indah Mosque, Bojong Kulur Gunung Putri Bogor Village, on Tuesday (17/10/2023).

As Head of Community Service, Dr. Hj. Zulfitria Zaidir, M.Pd, gave a parenting study with the theme "Islamic Health Education and Family Education to Prevent Stunting in Children" and was guided by the Chair of the UMJ FKM Study Program, Dr. Ernyasih, MKM, as host. Ummi Sabil, who works as a herbal practitioner, provided material on enriching Islamic health education and was continued by lecturer at the UMJ Faculty of Public Health , Dr. Munaya Fauziah, M.Kes., explained about family education to prevent stunting .

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake for a long time, resulting in growth disorders in children such as a child's height being shorter than the age standard. Stunting can also be caused by other factors, including a lack of exclusive breast milk (ASI) given to children and inadequate and inadequate quality of complementary breast milk.

Apart from parenting studies , the event was also enlivened by a bazaar event for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the community of Bojong Kulur Village. The whole community seemed enthusiastic about selling their merchandise. Also present was the Chair of the PKK, Bojong Kulur Gunung Putri Bogor Village, Ambar Retnowati, S.Pd.I., Lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, UMJ , Ustad Dr. Zainal Arif, Lc. MA., and the community in the surrounding environment.
